VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR // Job Summary

The Volunteer Coordinator holds a critical frontline position in maintaining the mission and vision of 431 Ministries. She will administer all aspects of the organization’s volunteer team including recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers during set scheduled work hours.

Reports to: Executive Director
Employment Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate:  $17-$19

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with all departments and team members to identify current and upcoming volunteer needs and uses email, shared communication tools, and organizational systems (e.g., EveryAction and Google Drive) to maintain continuity and transparency across the team.

  • Recruit, schedule, and onboard volunteers based on organizational needs and volunteer availability, skillsets, and interests.

  • Communicate volunteer opportunities via email, text, and direct outreach to individuals, churches, and community partners.

  • Maintain organized volunteer records and schedules.

  • Build relationships with volunteers to ensure connection, motivation, and long-term engagement.

  • Collect volunteer stories and testimonials for marketing and storytelling purposes.

  • Plan and implement ongoing training, appreciation, and recognition activities.

  • Send quarterly reports to churches detailing member involvement and volunteer hours.

  • Develop and distribute volunteer satisfaction surveys.

  • Share upcoming opportunities with churches and business partners 3–6 months in advance.

  • Keeps detailed and organized records of volunteer conversations, schedules, and commitments in shared systems so that other staff can follow up as needed.

  • Ensure volunteers are supported, encouraged, and aligned with 431 Ministries’ mission, vision, and safety policies.

  • Maintains clear communication with other staff and leadership to ensure continuity of service when unavailable, and documents important updates for follow-up by teammates.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong discipleship skills with ability to motivate and encourage others.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

  • 3-5 years in a relevant field.

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in related field.
